How to Find Your Purpose

“What’s your purpose?”

It’s a big question, isn’t it?

But it’s a good one to ask yourself.

Your purpose is your why

It’s the why behind everything you do.

Your purpose fuels your actions and decisions.

Finding your purpose requires introspection and a deep understanding of your strengths, values, and aspirations.

How do you find your purpose?

Here are five ways.

5 Ways to Find Your Purpose

Step 1: Identify your core values

Your core values are what matter to you most.

Do you care about persevering through hardships? Teamwork? Personal excellence?

Your core values are the foundation of your purpose. Your decisions and actions are built from them.

Step 2: Pinpoint your strengths and passions

What are you naturally good at? Are there certain activities you enjoy?

As an athlete, this could be a specific skill or even an aspect of the game. For instance, if you’re a basketball player, maybe you love defense.

If you’re a coach, maybe you excel at mentoring your athletes.

Whatever it is, treat it as a clue to uncover your purpose.

Step 3: Set purposeful goals

Your goals are your guide rails. They keep you focused and on the right path. When setting goals, make sure they’re connected to your values and strengths.

When you set goals with your purpose in mind, they become more than a task, but a mission.

Step 4: Embrace the process

I encourage you to embrace the process.

The process of finding and living out your purpose doesn’t happen overnight.

It’s a journey, and part of your evolution is opening yourself up to new experiences, facing challenges head-on, and seizing opportunities.

Each step gets you closer to being the best version of yourself.

Step 5: Regularly reflect on your progress

Self-reflection is crucial for personal growth.

Make it a habit to review your experiences to see whether your decisions and actions align with your core values.

Be honest with yourself.

If it feels like you’re failing, don’t give up. Use this time to realign with your goals.

Staying true to your purpose requires flexibility.
